-The Oklahoma City Thunder forced a Game 7 against the Houston Rockets with a 104-100 win yesterday behind Chris Paul’s 28 points and had 7 rebounds and Danilo Gallinari had 25 points. James Harden had 32 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists to lead Houston. Game 7 will be tomorrow at 9PM EST.
-The Miami Heat beat the Milwaukee Bucks 115-104 in Game 1 of their second round series behind Jimmy Butler’s 40 points, Bam Adebayo’s 12 points and 17 rebounds, and Goran Dragic’s 27 points. For the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo’s 18 points, 10 rebounds, and 9 assists, Khris Middleton had 29 points and Brook Lopez had 24.
-Game 2 of Boston Celtics vs. Toronto Raptors is today at 5:30PM EST, Boston leads 1-0.
-Game 7 of Denver Nuggets vs. Utah Jazz is today at 8:30PM EST. I wonder what kind of magic we’ll see in that one? Jamal Murray and Donovan Mitchell could both easily go for 50 points each, maybe even more? This is a huge game that should deliver the excitement.
-Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans has been named the NBA’s Most Improved Player. He’s certainly made an improvement to his game, though I would have given the award to Luka Doncic myself. He improved his numbers more than Ingram did, or Bam Adebayo, who finished in second place. Luka was third in the voting.
-Los Angeles Chargers Safety Derwin James is out for the season again. He played all 16 games in 2018 as a rookie but missed 11 games last season and will miss them all this season. Damn, he just can’t stay healthy. That sucks because he’s a good player. I hate seeing injuries, I want to see the best of the best playing.
-Leonard Fournette was released by the Jacksonville Jaguars yesterday. I’m sure he’ll get on with some team somewhere but he won’t be looking at a big payday. He’s got talent but they’ll question his desire and all that stuff. He needs to get with a good team with solid leadership.
