-The Toronto Raptors beat the Boston Celtics in Double Overtime 125-122 yesterday to tie their series 3-3 and set up a Game 7 at 9PM EST tomorrow. Kyle Lowry had 33 points and 9 rebounds while Fred VanVleet 21 points and 9 rebounds and OG Anunoby had 13 points and 13 rebounds. The Celtics were led by Marcus Smart with 23 points and 11 rebounds and 10 assists, Jayson Tatum with 29 points and 14 rebounds and 9 assists, and Jaylen Brown with 31 points and 16 rebounds. A lot of guys played 50+ minutes, though, so I expect Game 7 to be very low-scoring and intense.
-The Los Angeles Clippers beat the Denver Nuggets 96-85 to take a 3-1 series lead. The Clippers were led by Kawhi Leonard with 30 points and 11 rebounds and 9 assists while the Nuggets were led by Nikola Jokic with 26 points and 11 rebounds. This series is almost over, I can’t imagine the Clippers choke a 3-1 lead but it’s happened to teams before. If Leonard has a bad game, the Nuggets could definitely win, so it’s always a possibility. It’s not likely, though, but maybe Denver can push them to 6 or maybe even 7 games?
-The 101st NFL season starts tonight with the Houston Texans playing the Kansas City Chiefs. I’m so ready for this season to begin, and this should be a hell of a game tonight. Deshaun Watson just signed a big contract, and of course Patrick Mahomes signed the largest contract in NFL history over the summer, so this should be a great duel. The Chiefs are -9.5 in the betting lines on DraftKings and FanDuel. I would take the Under on that but I expect a close game. I might be totally wrong on that, though. I enjoy gambling but I’m no expert.
