-The Kansas City Chiefs picked up where they left off last season, as they beat the Houston Texans 34-20 last night. Patrick Mahomes threw 3 TDs and their rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire had 138 yards rushing and a touchdown. I thought the game would be a little bit closer but the Texans just couldn’t get anything going on offense. They scored the first touchdown then basically did nothing else until the end of the game, when they started scoring some more. It just wasn’t enough and the Chiefs look like they did last year, a team that’s going to be extremely hard to beat. Mahomes only had 211 yards passing but he didn’t need a huge game yards-wise, not with that run game. I’m just so glad to have the NFL back. I didn’t notice any big injuries last night and I hope that continues. I’m sure they’ll be some, unfortunately, but I really hope not. One last note, Kansas City didn’t have many penalties, they played a surprisingly clean game for the most part. I thought things would be sloppier because of no preseason and such, but no, they did a good job. I hope that continues league-wide as well.
-The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Houston Rockets 110-100 to take a 3-1 series lead. The Lakers were led by Anthony Davis with 29 points and 12 rebounds, LeBron James with 16 points and 15 rebounds and 9 assists and Rajon Rondo with 11 points and 10 rebounds and 8 assists. The Rockets were led by James Harden with 21 points and 10 assists and Russell Westbrook with 25 points. Harden somehow only made 2 field goals (2-11) but was 16-20 from the free throw line. That’s just crazy.
