-The Miami Heat beat the Boston Celtics 106-101 yesterday to take a 2-0 lead in their series. The Heat were led by Bam Adebayo with 21 points and 10 rebounds and Goran Dragic with 25 points. Boston got 23 points from Kemba Walker and 21 points each from both Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. This is the second game in which Boston has choked away a big lead, a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter of Game 1 and a 15 point lead in the 3rd quarter of Game 2. Boston needs to finish these games if they want to make this a series.
-The Cleveland Browns beat the Cincinnati Bengals 35-30 last night to go to 1-1 on the season. I’m not going to say anything crazy like they saved their season or anything like that, but they looked good on offense. Baker Mayfield had 2 TDs (also 1 INT) and Nick Chubb had 124 yards rushing and 2 TDs and Kareem Hunt had 86 yards rushing on only 10 carries with a TD and 15 yards receiving and another TD through the air. Odell Beckham had a TD catch. For now, things seem okay with the team. For the Bengals, Joe Burrow had 316 yards passing and 3 TDs. He still needs to find a connection with AJ Green but that should come with time. Both teams should feel okay right about now. The Browns should be happy to get their offense going and get a win and the Bengals should feel good about how well Burrow played. There’s room for improvement on all sides, though, and I think there will be. It just takes time.
