Lakers beat Nuggets, Giannis is MVP

By: Frank Hyden

-The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Denver Nuggets 126-114 in Game 1 of their series. Anthony Davis had 37 points and 10 rebounds for the Lakers, who also got 15 points and 12 assists from LeBron James. The Nuggets got 21 points apiece from Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray. The Lakers blew them out, Denver came back some in the 4th quarter to make it look closer but this was a blowout. The Nuggets have to do better. Jokic and Murray getting into early foul trouble didn’t help.

-Giannis Antetokounmpo has won the NBA MVP for the second year in a row. Giannis had a great year, but I think LeBron James should have won. It’s close but I think I edge a bit towards LeBron. I might disagree with LeBron and think he’s a dumbass with some of his political views but you got to be real. Giannis averaged 29.5 points, 13.5 rebounds, and 5.6 assists. He shot 55% from the field and 63% from the line. LeBron averaged 25.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 10.2 assists. He shot 49% from the field and 69% from the line. Giannis has slightly better numbers but it’s close. I think LeBron should have won MVP but it’s not a robbery.
