Microsoft is going to buy Zenimax Media and Bethesda for $7.5 Billion. This means that Microsoft Game Studios will grow from 15 studios to 23 studios. Bethesda publishes such games as The Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Doom, Wolfenstein, Dishonored, Prey, The Evil Within, and more. This is huge news and a massive win for Xbox as they prepare to do battle with Sony and the PlayStation again, as we’re less than 2 months away from the release of the Xbox Series S/X and PlayStation 5. This deal won’t close until the second half of fiscal year 2021 but moving forward, either all Bethesda games will be exclusive to Xbox or come out at the same time. I imagine all future games that haven’t been announced yet or are still years away will be exclusive while announced games will come to PlayStation or Switch.
