-The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens last night 34-20. The Ravens didn’t look very good, particularly Lamar Jackson. Patrick Mahomes, on the other hand, looked great. He threw for 385 yards and 4 touchdowns, running for 26 yards and another touchdown. He also spread around the ball, with 5 guys having at least 62 yards receiving. Lamar had 82 yards rushing but only 97 yards passing and 1 touchdown.
-Adam Gase will be fired as head coach of the New York Jets if they lose to the Denver Broncos Thursday night, according to Colin Cowherd on his show Monday. Gase should already be gone but another coach who should have joined him is Dan Quinn from the Atlanta Falcons. Hell, the entire Falcons coaching staff should be gone and they should try to trade any player they can to accumulate picks and rebuild. They need to blow the team up and start over. Even if the Falcons were to go on a hot streak and finish 11-5 or 12-4, are you trusting this team in the playoffs? I believe pretty much everybody would answer, “Hell no!”. I hate calling for people to be fired but the fact that Gase and Quinn still have their jobs is a sad indictment of those teams.
-The Houston Texans are bringing in Earl Thomas. He could help the defense out, as long as he can get along with the guys there.
-Doc Rivers has been fired as head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers. He went 356-208, a .631 winning percentage but they lost to the Denver Nuggets after holding a 3-1 series lead. He won a NBA Title with the Boston Celtics so he’ll definitely be in demand from other teams needing a coach.
