-Yet again there were some major upsets in college football yesterday. Let’s get to the rundown.
#1 Clemson beat Virginia 41-23 #2 Alabama beat #13 Texas A&M 52-24 #3 Florida beat South Carolina 38-24 #4 Georgia beat #7 Auburn 26-7 TCU beat #9 Texas 33-31 (this one featured a terrible beat on the Under as TCU took a safety as time expired to push the total points just over what the Under was) Tulsa beat #11 UCF 34-26 #12 North Carolina beat Boston College 26-22 #15 Cincinnati beat South Florida 28-7 Arkansas beat #16 Mississippi State 21-14 #17 Oklahoma State beat Kansas 47-7 Iowa State beat #18 Oklahoma 37-30 #20 LSU beat Vanderbilt 41-7 #21 Tennessee beat Missouri 35-12 #22 BYU beat Lousiana Tech 45-14 NC State beat #24 Pitt 30-29 SMU beat #25 Memphis 30-27
A couple takeaways…Texas and Oklahoma are huge disappointments. Oklahoma has already lost twice. Texas has only lost once, but they should have lost last week to Texas Tech. They play each other next week so here’s a chance for one of them to bounce back. It’s possible they both look good but you can’t count on that. Man, this college football season has been wild and unpredictable this year.
-Today’s scheduled games of Pittsburgh vs. Tennessee and New England vs. Kansas City have been postponed due to players testing positive for Covid-19. The Patriots-Chiefs game will likely be played Tuesday but possibly Monday. All this Coronavirus stuff sucks. Hopefully it goes away as soon as possible.
