PlayStation 5 Backwards Compatibility

By: Frank Hyden

Sony has released a blog post about backwards compatibility for the PlayStation 5. Some important notes, taken straight from the post-

-You can transfer digital games and saved data from a PS4 console to a PS5 console using WiFi data transfer.

-For the best experience, use a DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller when playing PS4 games and PS VR games on a PS5 console.

-The overwhelming majority of the 4,000+ PS4 games are playable on PS5 consoles.

-Select PS4 games will benefit from the PS5 console’s Game Boost, which may make PS4 games run with a higher or smoother frame rate.

There’s a few other things there but that’s largely it. Nothing really surprising, just more solid confirmation. They have a small list of games that aren’t backwards compatible but it’s likely you’ve never even heard of them. Thanks for reading.
