-The Green Bay Packers beat the San Francisco 49ers last night 34-17 in a game that wasn’t as close as that score indicates. Aaron Rodgers had 305 yards passing and 4 touchdowns, with 173 yards and 1 touchdown going to Davante Adams. Marquez Valdes-Scantling had 53 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns. The 49ers scored a touchdown with 4 seconds remaining to ruin the night for those who bet the Under at 51 points. The 49ers didn’t have a lot of their normal guys because on injuries and Covid and it showed, as they were unable to do much of anything until garbage time, when the game was out of reach. The Packers improve to 6-2 while the 49ers drop to 4-5.
-It looks like the NBA season is going to start on December 22nd and include 72 games. That seems like too high a number of games considering the later start date but the TV contracts are the reason for that. I imagine a lot of veteran players rest a lot or just plain skip large parts of the season, especially early. I haven’t heard anything about the NHL’s plans for this season, strange as they’re usually going at the same time the NBA is having their season, but I’ll guess we’ll hear about that eventually.
