Seahawks Beat Cardinals, Hayward Opts Out, Klay Tears Achilles

By: Frank Hyden

-The Seattle Seahawks beat the Arizona Cardinals 28-21 last night to improve to 7-3 while the Cardinals fall to 6-4. Russell Wilson and Kyler Murray each threw 2 touchdowns for their team in a largely quiet game offensively. Nobody had numbers that would blow you away, each team had a lot of penalties as well. Still, it was a fairly good game and now Seattle has the lead in the NFC West division for now.

-Gordon Hayward has opted out of his $34 million deal with the Boston Celtics for this season and will become a free agent. That makes it seem like he doesn’t care as much about the money because I don’t know if teams will offer him nearly that much a season. Then again, maybe they will, I don’t know.

-Klay Thompson has suffered a season-ending Achilles tear. He missed all of last season after suffering an ACL tear in the 2019-2020 NBA Finals. That’s horrible for him and you can only hope he’s able to come back healthy and ready to go. Missing two seasons is going to be rough, though.
