AEW had their Beach Break show last night and it featured some big moments. Let’s get to the rundown.
GOOD- Chris Jericho and MJF won the Tag Team Battle Royal
I like Battle Royals for the excitement and action and this one delivered that. There was a lot going on, though the stipulation that the winners get a title shot kind of limited the potential winners. The match was still fun, though.
GOOD- Darby Allin and Sting promo with Team Taz
This was just okay. I didn’t want to go BAD with it, though, because it wasn’t BAD. It just wasn’t all that great. The best part was Taz and Rickey Starks.
GOOD- Britt Baker beat Thunder Rosa
I’m a big fan of Baker. Her mannerisms and the way she does everything is just great. She’s fantastic in her role as the cocky heel. And we know Rosa can bring it. I liked this match. It wasn’t high-flying or anything like that, but it told a nice story. Rebel took the pad off the second turnbuckle moments before Baker threw Rosa into it, knocking her out, and got the win with the Lockjaw.
GOOD- “Hangman” Adam Page and Matt Hardy beat Chaos Project
This was fine, it didn’t sink to the level of BAD or anything, but it was solid. Hardy tagged himself in to get the pin after Page did all the work.
GOOD/BAD- The Wedding of Penelope Ford and Kip Sabian
They at least let them get married before any shenanigan’s. Chuck Taylor cuffed Miro’s leg to the ringpost and attacked Sabian. Orange Cassidy came out from hiding in the cake and they got a little revenge. The whole segment was just meh. It was fine but that’s about it.
GOOD- Lance Archer beat Eddie Kingston
This was a hard-hitting match. They delivered a nice brawl. There was some interference, Archer looked strong, and then he picked up the win. Nothing Earth-shattering but it was GOOD.
GOOD- Kenny Omega and The Good Brothers beat Rey Fenix, Pac, and Jon Moxley
There was some good action here, no surprise, and a big surprise at the end. After The Good Brothers got the pin on Fenix, Lance Archer came out and brawled with them, then Kenta came out and attacked Moxley. So, now the partnerships extend to New Japan Pro-Wrestling. Things are heating up.
